The back of beyond

Bonjour! I hope you do not let this writing fool you into taking its subject as my pièce de résistance. I have tons of stories to tell for I ruminate quite a lot (on my thoughts, not cud. Human here, not cow peeps- yup, gear up for some out of the box humor). But there are certain niches of my imagination I understand the best and I simply cannot help but elaborate the same to those who wish to savvy. So happy Savvying to you!

Cocooned somewhere in the depths of one’s mind, a strangely comforting hearth in one’s very self, is what I fondly refer to as the back of beyond. And only the most lethal and blood curdling of acts and events have the kind of impact that floods the mind with such numbness, forcing it take shelter in this pro tem chimera of peace. I may come across as a nihilist, figuring out my nihilistic mind.. but the back of beyond lives in every single one of us- an opulence that is tranquility, away from the chaos raging elsewhere in the same mind.

Alright, that is enough of my credos and tenets. Let’s get to the point. It’s MMXX, the 20th year of the third millennium. And the world seems to be spiraling into chaos; regardless of which of the 7.8 billion of the earth’s population’s eyes you look through. But people tend to forget that chaos has always been the order of nature. We notice it only when it crosses our endurance. And the escape? Some keep to themselves, some let others bear the brunt, some feign ignorance, others indifference. And I? Dwelling in the comforts of a well to do household, I close my mind and live the pain. For that is the only way out I have ever embarked on. You observe no marks of suffering on your flesh; you simply live the pain, without bearing its marks. For there is only so much torment that donations, prayers and hope can drive away. My heavy heart still remains the same.

I am no super human, I have no other worldly powers or strengths. All I can do is put myself into the shoes of the world and live its tale- the perpetrators, the persecuted, the onlookers. And for some inexplicable reason, my mind calms down and the disarray vanishes. And to not forget my worldly tasks and duties in the midst of this transcendental jaunt, is yet another feat. In the end, I would simply like to appreciate myself for my mere existence, for existence in itself is a great achievement, be it now, before or hereafter. And it is high time we start to love and acknowledge the same. Peace always comes from within, dear all..
